2004 merceds E500 usa

Postby abellocksmith » Wed Jun 27, 2018 8:46 pm

pulled a w211 st12 out of a benz on sunday. read the eeprom with vvdi prog. loaded file with vvdi mg. prepared key file the wrote to vvdi bga key.
1st key is currently still working. wrote 2 other keys. tested each one 4 time or more both starting the vehicle and testing remote unlock/locking buttons. customer drove with key #2 to the gas station. got out locked the door with the remote, came out to the car , unlocked the car with the remote got in but the key would not turn the ignition, got back out and remote had also quit working. I created him a 3rd remote which did a similar thing when he drove back to his hotel. when I insert either key into the vvdi mg and attempted to read its identity the vvdi tells me there is no key detected.
Has anyone run into this before? Is it just bad remotes?

Perhaps poor quality key or IR issue
